Well.....I have not been keeping up with the blog. Still whining away, just not to the world, to my own little crew, much to their annoyance I am sure.

Patented snoring devise

Woke up to find the hubby on the sofa...no fights last night.....no misunderstandings. The issue was SNORING....mine that is. He was a bit of a grump, can't fathom why. He went off to work still all grumpily and annoyed. Good thing the sofa is comfy....sort of...

Found this contraption online...I am sure if we had one up these I would have woken with it shoved up my nose, but at least he would have been in a better mood.

Equal trade off? I think the discomfort of this devise would have been worth it!

Off to work in the studio...feeling creative.....I had a great sleep!

I hardly ever enter on-line contests anymore because I have had enough of the spam for MegaDik.....[if I had a pen!s* I may be tempted to try it, just so I could see my wee willy without having to move my stomach out of the way...but I digress], and I NEVER WIN!

So I was very tickled to find out I had won CiMC's 1st Anniversary Contest, graciously offered by CiMC's creator, Kirk S. Without having to have any talent on my part, or be clever or anything. Just by saying "sign me up too".

With anticipation I waited for what was sure to be a fantastic T with a very cool graphic, designed by the author of CiMC himself. And waited. Kirk messaged me with his frustration with his T-shirt company, the length of time they were taking, etc. I am patient, I do not complain. [well, not about this at least]

Booboo T

Yay! A package from California! Well an envelop actually, which, I might add, contained some very cool CiMC stickers , but no T-shirt. Then another package from the US, yay...[it is a big deal around here], this one is squishy, like there is a T-shirt in there! Yes....yes...as I rip open the grey plastic shipping bag, yes..yes..it's a T! A very nice LadyDaemonica graphic T, destined for an equally lovely [I presume] lady in Australia. No CiMC T-shirt.

Kirk to the rescue! With what I imagine a very stern and unwaivering tone of voice, he contacted the T-shirt company and gave them hell. Ta Da! New package from San Jose,CA, with not one but two T's!

Whining

Decided it was time to update the blog and call it what it really was, a way to "whine" publicly about life, my life in general. I am not saying that all bloggers are whiners and use this medium to spew ad nauseam about the goings on in their lives, quite the contrary. I really enjoy the glimpses into other worlds, so to speak.

As I went back and read through my posts, I decided my blog had become less about what I do and more about the frustrations I have. About wishes unfufilled..all the lists...dwelling on what had or had not been, instead of what could be.

So I decided to call it what it is, a forum for my whining about my life. Not that I really have anything to whine about...I mean really whine. I think I just enjoy venting, it is a release, a decluttering of the mind.

Ahhh...I feel better all ready....

Well I am at that age where I "need" to color my hair...those pesky, aging greys are slowly weeding out the youthful chestnut locks of my youth. Since there is an almost infinite amount of hair colors and brands to choose from, you would think that a creative soul such as myself would have experimented with the rainbow...but alas vanity, not creativity rules this head.

Hazelnut, espresso, dark chocolate....hmmmm, what flavor will my tresses imitate? Will they look good enough to eat? Will anyone notice that my hair has returned to its former shining glory? Or will they smirk knowingly then contemplate their own crown?

sunday morning

Well it's Sunday morning and I thought I should get around to updating the blog.

Sickness has taken it's hell hold on our family and we have been battling the flu for two weeks now. The only one seemingly impervious to it is Ryan, our 13 year old darling boy, who at this moment is pacing by the family computer and clapping. His pacing and clapping is a coping reaction to his OCD and anxiety disorders, all associated with his Asperger's. He also talks a mile a minute on the subjects that are near and dear to him - cars and video games associated with cars and dealerships and racing and speed and car dedicated websites. As his mind has a hard time focusing on one thing at a time, things that speed by quickly seem to be the best "fit" for him, his mind and voice race, his words bump and tumble into each other and his conversation is like trying to watch Nascars whip by on the track. One does not have a "conversation" with Ryan; he talks and you listen. ( Might I add for the 10th time on the same subject in one day.) As one could guess, it is rarely quiet around Ryan. And harder to cope ourselves with sickness running amuck. But...I would not trade him for all the cough medicine in the world. He is sweet, kind, sensitive, funny, intelligent and happy... a rarity for someone with the disorders he has to contend with. And makes Sunday mornings wonderful, even if you are sick.

Blue Hawaii

I was 14, I guess it was the last big driving trip with the family that I would begrudgingly participate in. My parent's would plan this big car trip about every second year. I guess they needed a year to save up in between.  We would do a big loop, starting in Winnipeg, then head south across the border and then southwest, loop around, furthest point somewhere in Texas, then head northeast and finally back up to Canada. Driving and driving, stopping at all the carefully planned "points of interest". So I was actually in my Dad's Ford Torino Brougham, just pulling up to a hotel in the mid west, when we heard Elvis was dead on the local radio station. I was a big fan prior to my teenage years..my sisters and I would be glued to the TV when his movies were shown and we played my Mom's Elvis records and danced and fantasized about being his girlfriend. Well I did. I always remember him as the young Elvis depicted in his movies. I really never acknowledged the "Vegas Elvis".... and in my mind's eye he is how he was when he was young, smooth, velvety voiced and in black leather.

Torino

My Dad bought a the daily paper in the hotel lobby with the article of his passing. It was a sad time for me. Even though at 14 I had not listened to his music for a few years, I felt something for the time when it meant a lot to me. I do not remember many things from those trips, but that snippet of time leaps into my mind everytime I hear an Elvis song or catch an old Elvis flick on late night TV. I appreciate those driving trips now. Funny how life changes. Or at least my perspective of it
